Sunday 4th September – walk **** – Felixstowe prom with lunch at Jacobs Ladder – sunny and hot.

I don’t usually post these prom walks but it was such a nice one I decided to make an exception:) There was a hint of a foiling breeze in the forecast today but it did not come with the onshore wind remaining light so had a relaxing Sunday morning in the garden, me doing my exercises in the warm sunshine while Mag potters in the garden all the time being entertained by the too cats, mainly butterfly chasing:) We had hoped go visit relatives in Ipswich but they were not available so I made lunch, as it was getting on we did not fancy a bike ride or to drive anywhere in the van so Mag suggested we walk down to the beach. We didn’t get down until 2, Mag wanted to stop at the end of our road but I persuaded her walk to the end of the prom at Jacobs Ladder where I thought it would be quieter. There were loads of people enjoying the fantastic weather, sunny and hot with a light onshore breeze, ideal for loads of yachts, the coastwatch boat passed, there were paddle boarders and kids swimming in the sea, even a young lad learning to windsurf, there was birthday celebrations behind colourful windbreaks and a lovely selection of colourful beach parasols :) We found a quiet spot for our yummy picnic with once again a selection of Mags fantastic tomatoes, its been a good year for them and were entertained by several dogs swimming in the sea having a great time they were:) A little funky sailing dinghy sailed fast eventually landing at the Fludgers and we were joined by a gull wanting to share our lunch, all very lovely. Well rested we walk back and with the breeze on our backs it was very warm too, there was life music playing in the Spa gardens but it was a religious thing so did not stop. Home for a cuppa and a yummy ice cream too, cheap too as it was out of the freezer:)
